It was a happy ending for a dog that fell down a cliff this morning.

The Forestville Fire Department in a message posted to Facebook said it responded shortly before 10 a.m. to assist the owner of an injured dog. County dispatch reports the incident occurred in the area of Cedar Street in Forestville. The animal, according to the fire department, “fell off a cliff and was injured.”

Members of the Silver Creek Fire Department High Angle Rescue Team also responded to the scene.

“As the team was getting ready to descend, the pooch decided to walk up the cliff,” the fire department said. “She received some belly rubs and was left in the care of her owner.”
