JAMESTOWN — Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot Sunday night in the city.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing, the Jamestown Police Department said Monday.

Officers responded at 9:16 p.m. to the area of Winsor and Crossman streets for a gunshot complaint. Two people, who were not identified by name or residence, were transported to UPMC Chautauqua and were reported to be in stable condition, the department said.

Police did not specify where the victims were shot or how many times.

Shortly after the shooting, officers could be seen late Sunday at the intersection of Winsor and Falconer streets next to a vehicle.

JPD said more information would be released as it became available.

Winsor has been the location of another recent shooting. Officers were summoned the evening of July 28 to the intersection of Winsor and Price streets and found a vehicle with its front driver’s side window shattered.

No injuries were reported in the July incident, and the department at the time said it was looking into the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department’s tip line at 716-483-8477.
