Jamestown standoff ends with arrest of man, 27

JAMESTOWN — A three-hour armed standoff on Baker Street today has led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man.

Jamestown police report they received a disturbance call at 242 McKinley Ave. The suspect, Alberto J. Acevedo, did flee the residence prior to the arrival of officers and went to 131 Baker St. in an attempt to avoid capture for an outstanding parole violation warrant.

Officers responded and Acevedo did arm himself with a knife and barricaded himself into a small room on the second floor of the residence.
