JAMESTOWN — Brownie Troop 20049 enjoyed an outing to the Audubon Community Nature Center in Jamestown on recently.

Girls from Forestville and Silver Creek earned their BUGS badge by learning all about bugs with the help of Program Director, Jennifer Schlick. They learned about insect bodies, explored bug homes by searching under rocks and logs on the grounds, and netting some bugs from the pond. By putting their catches in cups of water, they were able to see several different water bugs, snails and tadpoles in action.

They enjoyed a visit to Liberty, the resident Bald Eagle. The girls toured the interactive exhibits in the Nature Center where they were able to see honey bees busy in their hive, plus some of the other live animals (turtles, frogs, snakes). They finished up by making some bug crafts and enjoying a bug-themed snack!

Congratulations ladies on earning your BUGS badge!
