Girl Scouts celebrate founder’s birthday

Submitted Photo Girl Scout Troop #20237 in Dunkirk, celebrated the birthday of their founder, Juliette Gordon Low, at a recent meeting. The girls listened to a story about her life and how she held the first troop meeting in Savannah, Georgia, in 1912. The girls then assembled “birthday bags” each filled with a cake pan, cake mix, frosting, candles, and a handmade cupcake “swap.” They will be donated to Rural Ministries to be sure that everyone can have a cake on their birthday. The meeting closed with the girls enjoying cupcakes.
