Lil Magill’s wins Red White & Blues Festival award

Submitted Photo Selected by a special 8 person Red, White & Blues judging panel at the 2018 Red White & Blues Festival, Lil Magill’s was awarded a trophy and prize for “Best Cocktail in Fredonia.”

After one of the best attended Red White & Blues Festivals in downtown Fredonia this September, a winner of the “Best Cocktail in Fredonia” award has been selected. The winner, Lil Magill’s, located at 13 Water St. in Fredonia, was presented with a trophy and special prize by the Festivals Fredonia Committee and Three Chord Bourbon for their original drink “American as Apple Pie,” featuring locally-blended spirits from Three Chord Bourbon and locally-distilled spirits from Buffalo Distilling Company. Three Chord Bourbon, one of this year’s festival sponsors, awarded the venue with $100 Amex gift card to the owner, Janet Schwerk, and her team. They will hold the trophy and title for one year, until it goes up for grabs again at the 2019 Red White & Blues Festival. Competition was fierce, with the popular votes rolling in for all the competing bars, but no one could match the originality and presentation of Lil Magill’s.

A big thank you goes out to all of the participating venues: Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59, The Liberty Food & Spirits, Fredonia Beaver Club, Heenan’s Irish Pub, Coughlan’s Pub, EBC West, Muldoon’s / Tully’s, and EBC West; as well as to all of the fantastic people who came out to vote for their favorite drink and enjoy the festival’s musical performances.

Congratulations also go out to Dennis “Harvey” Fiegl, whose vote was drawn as the winner of a commemorative 2018 Red White & Blues t-shirt.

Venues who would like to compete in next year’s “Best Cocktail in Fredonia” competition should contact Larry Fiorella, or the Festivals Fredonia Facebook Page at facebook.com/festivalsfredoniaoffical.
