Robinson running for Villenova Town Council

J.D. Robinson

VILLENOVA — J.D. Robinson Sr. is running for Villenova Town Council.

In his announcement, he states, “We all have an opportunity for civic duty. For me it is not just voting, but running for the Villenova Town Board as Councilman this November 6th. As councilman I want to make “your voice heard” and your vote count.

Robinson noted that many years have passed since he and his wife Diana have been living in the beautiful rural area of Villenova. “I now have two adult sons and six wonderful grandchildren. Here I’ve had opportunity to teach music in public school, and perform with various community bands, such as New Horizons Band, located at SUNY Fredonia, under the direction of Kate Levy. I’ve also performed in various churches in the area, singing in cantatas and playing euphonium. I’ve taught adult Bible studies at several churches. Although retired from US Airways, I have enjoyed driving school bus for Forestville Central School the past 15 years.”

Robinson served on the Board of Directors for the Cattaraugus-Chautauqua chapter of the New York State Horse Council. He served as a team leader and facilitator in communications at US Airways. He supervised both union and non union employees. And, coupled with his leadership experience, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management.

“Transparency, integrity, and honesty should also be an integral part of any candidate elected to serve. As councilman, all the townspeople are to be represented and not only the personal, or persuasive opinions of a vocal few. Never give in to pressure or bought. Stand firm, listen and act in the best interests of all the town people. Set goals and priorities that the people want. Make it a win for all,” he said.

“Lower tax is at the top of the list for just about everyone. Better roadways are needed. We need WIFI/Cell tower service for all residents. A better website with updated information. New ideas for dollars. Enhanced flow of information between those running the town, and people in the town. Transparency. Balanced and fair decision making. These are just some of my goals and priorities. Together we can make your voice heard, and your vote count! It is time for a change,” he said.
