NCCF: ‘Whose footprints do you strive to follow?’

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is personally inviting the community to submit a nomination for the 2019 George B. Weaver Jr. Footprints Award. As a resident of northern Chautauqua County, one sees the good that happens in this area. Community members are encourage to nominate the individual or couple whose philanthropy is worthy of recognition — someone who has left those footprints that one should all strive to follow. It is not a requirement that nominees have an affiliation with the NCCF.

“We encourage community members to nominate those who are passionate about northern Chautauqua and who demonstrate their passion by selflessly giving of their own time and funds,” said Diane Hannum, NCCF’s executive director.

Nominations should have a strong history of volunteerism, philanthropic endeavors (financial support not necessarily measured in number of dollars) and activities that have made an impact in the community as well as enhanced the social and cultural climate of the northern Chautauqua community. Past recipients include George B. Weaver Jr.; Dallas Beal; Robert Maytum; Jim and Carol Boltz; Donald Q. Eno; the founding NCCF Board of Directors and the first elected Board of Directors; Richard S. Johnson; Edwin L. Hamlet; Doug and Ann Manly; Richard Anson; Steve and Helen Baran; Steve and Sue Cobb; Dick & Carmen Gilman; Wayne, Elaine; and Laurel Hotelling, James and Marcia Merrins, and Alona Forbes.

Visit the website at www.nccfoundation.org/footprints-award to download a nomination form; or complete the form online. Nominations must be submitted by March 26. Forms are also available by contacting the office at 366-4892 or ilord@nccfoundation.org. Community members are encouraged to submit a name for the committee’s consideration.
