Collins Public Library events for April

COLLINS — The Collins Public Library, located at 2341 Main St., has announced it schedule of April events:

Lap Sit with Miss Abbie: Mondays: April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 10:30 a.m. Join us for this fun program for children ages 6 months to 2 years with a caregiver. A great introduction to early literacy skills with rhymes, finger plays, music, stories and more. Sign- up is required.

Savvy Caregivers Series: Four consecutive sessions, Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m., March 25, April 1, April 8, and April 15. It’s a four-session training series designed to teach how to care for someone who has Alzheimer’s disease or another related dementia. Presented by Chautauqua Opportunities. Make Your own Peep House: Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. Open to ages 2 to 12. All materials to make your own peep house are provided. Registration required by Monday March 25.

Quilting with Florence: Every Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join these knowledgeable ladies as they work on projects.

Library Board Meeting: Thursday, April 4 at 6 p.m. Open to the public. All are welcome.

Toddler Time: The next three-week session of Toddler Time begins Friday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m. We read stories, play games, sing songs and have a snack. Ages 2 to 5. Call or stop in to register!

Senior Movie: Friday, April 5 at 1 p.m. Join us for a movie and popcorn. Co-sponsored by the 50+ seniors. Call the Library for the Title of the Movie.

Computer Class-Editing Digital Photos: Saturday, April 6 from 12 to 2 p.m. Learn how to make basic adjustments to photos. Free and open to Library patrons age 17 and above. Registration required.

Craft Club: Monday, April 8 at 6 p.m. Come and make crafts in the Library. This month’s theme will be Easter! Ages 4 to 12. Registration is required.

Evening Book Club: Tuesday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. We will be discussing “The Story of Arthur Truluv” by Elizabeth Berg. Request a copy on line or stop by the Library Desk. Call 532-5129 or stop by if interested.

YA Writing Club: Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. Ages 13 to 20. Let us know if you require special accommodations. Snacks provided.

Book A Tech Trainer: Wednesday, April 10 starting at 1 p.m. There are a variety of subjects we can help you with! From eBooks to phones, we are here to help. Call to set up a free hands on appointment.

Music in the Library Concert Series: Join us Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. for a free concert by the classic bluegrass band Creek Bend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Annual Egg Hunt at the Collins Library! Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required. Children ages 0 to 10 are invited to take part in this exciting egg hunt with tons of eggs hidden all over the Library! Prizes and basket raffles will be available.

Morning Book Club: Monday, April 15 at 11 a.m. We will be discussing “Beartown” by Fredrik Backman. Request a copy online or at the Library Desk.

LEGO Club: Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. Come and play with LEGO’s in the Library. We will put your creation on display in the library. Ages 4-12. Registration required, call or stop in.

Easter Fun Story Hour: Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Join us for catapulting peeps, rabbit “mini golf,” Pete the Cat’s big Easter Adventure, make your own bunny trail mix and more! Open to children ages 3 to 10. Registration required and limited.

Closed: The Library will be closed on Friday, April 19. We will re-open on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. Please use our “Book” drop or renew online at www.Buffalolib.org.

Tinkering in the Library! Saturday, April 20 at noon. With different rotating activities each month, there will be new things to explore. Fun for the whole family. Stop by or call to sign up.
