Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates holds meeting

The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates recent held their regular monthly at The World War II Veterans Club, Lake Shore Dr. E. in Dunkirk. President Richard Jakubczyk welcomed the group to his club.

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for all deceased club members.

Roll call of officers was taken. One director absent was excused. Roll call of clubs was taken; all member clubs were represented.

Secretary Jim Pryll read the minutes of the previous meeting. Treasurer Tom Halicki gave the financial report. Motions were made and seconded to approve both reports.

Guests included Charles St. George and members of his family.

A thank you was received from the Dunkirk Historical Society for a donation made by the Association.

In new business, it was noted that the gaming commission will now allow minors to attend club-run bingo games.

President Joe Rozen again encouraged members to support our other clubs, which at this time includes Lenten fish dinners. President Rozen attended these dinners at four Association member clubs since the beginning of Lent, and enjoyed every one of them.

Spring meat parties will be held at various clubs in the upcoming month; Sheridan VFW, Sunday, April 14, 2 to 5 p.m., and The Brocton Legion on April 27.

The next meeting of the Association will be held on Sunday, April 28, 10:30 a.m. at the J. Carter Knapp Post, 6 Cedar St. in Forestville. All club members are welcome to attend.
