Dunkirk Memorial Unit 62 Memorial Day Weidner’s annual chicken barbecue

Dunkirk Memorial Unit 62 will hold the Memorial Day Weidner’s Annual Chicken Barbecue on Monday, May 27 from noon to sold out at 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. There will be music by 2nd St. Sunset from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 advance or $12 at the door. Pre-sale must be picked up by 3 p.m. There will also be a basket raffle by Unit 62 Auxiliary. Tickets are available at the Post.

Forestville Order of the Eastern Star Towel Bingo planned for May 31

Forestville Order of the Eastern Star will hold Towel Bingo on Friday, May 31 at the Masonic Lodge, 22 Main St., Forestville. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Admission is $5.

Silver Creek Fire House Cruise-in set for Sunday

The Silver Creek Fire House Cruise-in is planned for Sunday, May 26 from noon to 5 p.m. at 23 Jackson St., Silver Creek. All cars are welcome: street, rat, hot rods, trucks, classics, antiques and muscle. Activities include music, 50/50 drawings and door prizes. Food and refreshments will be available. Portland Planning Board reschedules meeting

Town of Portland Planning Board has moved its May meeting to Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m., Portland Town Hall, 87 W. Main St. Brocton. This change from its regular meeting night is to accommodate use of the Town Hall by the Board of Assessment Review.

Estate Planning and Elder Law Workshop

Bach BBQ, Bake Sale & Basket Auction set for June 1

On Saturday, June 1, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the fifth Bach BBQ, Bake Sale & Basket Auction will be held to support the Bach & Beyond Baroque Music Festival planned for June 14, 15, 16 at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House. This year’s event will be held in the West Barker Common near the Gazebo, and will feature delicious barbecue lunches served between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. There also will be an assortment of delicious homemade baked goods provided by Opera House members and supporters and a basket auction featuring a variety of baskets donated by area businesses and individuals.
