A full slate of endorsed candidates for mayor and common council, has been voted on and approved by the Dunkirk Democratic Committee for the upcoming November 2019 city of Dunkirk elections.

At a meeting held on Feb. 7, the committee accepted nominations from, and fully endorsed, current Mayor Wilfred Rosas, First Ward Councilman Don Williams Jr., Second Ward Councilman Marty Bamonto and Fourth Ward Councilman Michael Civiletto in their bids for another term in office.

The committee also endorsed Miriam Lugo-Alfaro for Third Ward Councilwoman and Frank Beach for Councilman-at-large. Current councilman-at-large, Andy Woloszyn decided not to seek another term.

In addition, the committee voted on and approved recommendations to the county for the re-election of District 2 County Legislator Bob Bankoski, and newcomer Phil Collier to the District 1 County Legislator position.

Dunkirk Democratic Committee Chairman Ned Divine, noted that this slate of experienced, qualified and committed candidates, looks to continue the progress and prosperity initiated by Mayor Rosas and select current council members Williams, Bamonto, Woloszyn and Civiletto. The inclusion of Beach and Lugo-Alfaro to this group, elevates the level of expertise and dedication to the future of the city of Dunkirk.
