Sinclairville Free Library presents ‘Author Day at the Library!’

The Sinclairville Free Library, located at 15 Main St., Sinclairville has planned an “Author Day at the Library!” for this Wednesday, May 8. At 11 a.m., Author Michele Chynoweth will present selections from her published fiction to illustrate the techniques used to create believable, compelling characters that readers really connect with and how to use dialog that isn’t contrived, but natural, not boring, but memorable. A question and answer session will follow.

At noon, attendees can hang out and talk shop. Bring your own bag lunch and drink.

1 p.m.: Following a brown bag lunch, the author will present the hands-on workshop, “Perfecting Your Craft.” After sharing some tips about good writing style, organization and editing, the students will practice what they’ve learned in a writing session in which they will bring in a few pages of their manuscript and work on re-writing them and then reading them aloud for critique by the other attendees, guided by the instructor.

Author Chynoweth is the best-selling and award-winning author of “The Faithful One,” “The Peace Maker” and “The Runaway Prophet,” contemporary suspense/romance novels that re-imagine Old Testament stories in the Bible. Chynoweth is also an inspirational speaker who has addressed a variety of writers’ conferences and other organizations across the country, a book coach and a writing instructor for the Continuing Education program at Cecil College in North East, Maryland. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she and her husband have a blended family of five children. www.michelechynoweth.com.

No cost to attend. “This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.”
