Bomb threat investigation ongoing in Randolph
RANDOLPH — On June 13 at approximately 7 a.m., the Randolph Central School District received a generic call claiming a bomb was in the school. The school was first put into a two-hour delay and then closed in order to provide the appropriate amount of time to search and clear all buildings on campus. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office asked for K-9 assistance from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Lakewood Busti Police Department, New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Bomb Squad.
The school was searched, cleared and deemed safe to return to its normal operation. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Bureau is still investigating the incident.
