Brocton Alumni announce scholarship winners, events

BROCTON — The Brocton Central School Alumni Association is proud to announce they have selected three winners from the Class of 2019 who will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. The recipients were announced at the BCS awards night and will be honored guests with their families at the BCS Alumni Reunion Dinner on July 13.

Congratulations to Riley Rivera, Ronald Brown and Madeline Brogan.

The BCS Alumni has awarded over $3,2000 in scholarships since 2008 with proceeds from their annual Golf Scramble, Chicken BBQ Dinner & donations as well as their Chinese Auctions at both the Golf Scramble & Alumni Dinner.

The Alumni Association would like to hear from past scholarship winners and share their accomplishments as a “where are they now” portion of the program. Previous winners are asked to please contact Mary Ellen Westin at 792-9472 or marye@netsync.net or Kathy Peters 679-5414 or kathypeters1255@yahoo.com

Contact Mary Ellen or Kathy for dinner reservations or any questions as well.

There are still slots available for the Golf Scramble held at Pine Hurst Golf Course with an 8 a.m. start on July 13. Contact Jon Espersen at 467-8328 for further information or go to bcsalumni.org for registration forms.

Tours of our beautiful BCS begin at the flag pole at 4:30 p.m. BCS has seen many improvements over the years and is often called “the hidden gem of Chautauqua County.” Many don’t know just how beautiful it is!

Appetizers begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Brocton Legion with a cash bar. Donations of appetizers are appreciated. Dinner consisting of barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, tomato salad, fruit salad and potatoes is served from 6-7:30 p.m. with cookies & brownies for desert. Reservations are due by today.

The popular Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffles & lots of reminiscing and fun will follow dinner. Donations for the Chinese Auctions are needed and appreciated for both the Golf Scramble and Alumni Dinner. Help with set up at the legion at 9 a.m. and clean up after dinner is also needed and appreciated. All attendees, donations and volunteers help to make these events a success and assure future scholarships can continue.

Thank you in advance for your help!
