Evans set to shed light on solar zoning

ANGOLA –The topic of solar energy will be front and center for Evans town residents at the next Town Board meeting in July.

Public Local Law 4 was removed from old business at the last meeting in early June. When asked if this would affect the solar moratorium in place in the town over the last few years, town Supervisor Mary Hosler stated: “The solar moratorium had been lifted six months ago in January.”

It is possible that there will be at least 10 new residential solar systems installed before the end of the year. Any town of Evans resident interested in obtaining information regarding solar systems is encouraged to visit the town website at www.townofevans.org.

The next Town of Evans board meeting will be Wednesday, July 17 at 7 p.m. at 8787 Erie Road.
