Join the Chamber now to access benefits, events, more

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce spring membership drive continues through June 20. Significantly, more than 40 businesses in Chautauqua County have already joined the Chamber during this drive. They may have been enticed by a variety of things: the improved member benefits package the Chamber offers, the chance to participate in a number of great events, or a variety of prize packages offered during this membership drive. But the reality is that all of our Chamber member businesses can access all of those things all the time.

Since we launched a new human resources platform product at the beginning of May more than 100 local businesses have signed up to participate. This new toolkit puts a very direct benefit into the hands of Chamber and Manufacturing Association member hands at no additional charge. Many businesses are still learning about changes in the state’s labor laws that apply across the board. This includes a requirement that every employee of every business comply with the New York State Sexual Harassment Law. To learn more about the online HR library and compliance program call our offices or visit the member benefits section of our website at www.chautauquachamber.org.

Because getting together with other business people helps to build business, the Chautauqua County Chamber and our six Community Chambers are working in tandem now to present even more Business After Hours networking events at even more locations around the county. The next event coming up will close our spring membership drive with a special chartered river cruise aboard the Chautauqua Belle. The boat will leave the McCrea Point dock in Jamestown promptly at 5pm, Thursday, June 20. Members and potential members will spend two hours cruising the scenic outlet that funnels Chautauqua Lake into the Chadakoin River. The evening will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. This special Chamber cruise is sponsored by Affinity One Federal Credit Union, AFLAC, Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro, P.C., KeyBank, Elegant Edibles Catering, ERA Team VP Real Estate & Vacation Rentals, Media One Radio Group, OBSERVER, The Post-Journal, and Univera Healthcare Southern Tier. The cost is just $18 for members and $20 for prospective members. New members can use their complimentary networking passes for this or any other upcoming Business After Hours event.

All businesses that join the Chamber during the spring membership drive will be automatically entered into a prize drawing and will be eligible to win one of two $25 gift certificates to Webb’s Captain’s Table, a one night stay at Chautauqua Suites in Mayville, a second-year Chamber membership free, or a stay and golf getaway package at Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa.

There are many more reasons why businesses may consider joining the Chamber, and we hope you will visit us online at www.chautauquachamber.org or call our offices at 366-6200 or 484-1101 to learn more or sign up for any of our upcoming events or programs.

The series begins on Wednesday, July 10 as the Chautauqua Theatre Company presents Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. All other performances will be held Thursdays featuring music of all varieties. Concerts are held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Bring your own seating, and also enjoy a barbecue offered by the Maple Springs Fire Department.
