Sinclairville Free Library to present writing workshops

On Tuesday, June 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., the Sinclairville Free Library presents “Get a Boost for your Writing,” two back-to-back workshops by Kathy Carlton Willis.

The first workshop is “From Idea to Print: the Brainstorming Process.” Come to this session if you’ve ever been stymied by the brainstorming process. Some writers get stuck thinking up ideas and other writers have plenty of ideas but no clue how to take it from idea to print. You’ll learn concrete ways to dream up and work up concepts, surging so fast you’ll think you’re caught in a brain tsunami!

The second workshop is “Build a Platform Strong Enough to Stand On!” When you first started writing, you just wanted to fiddle with words. Then you realized you needed more than that to take your writing seriously. You heard about platform and branding. Perhaps even made an attempt to establish a business plan. Now you’re ready to take your writing career to the next level. We’ll focus on taking a second look at your: 1) Platform, 2) Marketing and Business Plan, and 3) Branding.

God’s Grin Gal, Kathy Carlton Willis, writes and speaks with a balance of funny and faith–whimsy and wisdom. Over a thousand of Kathy’s articles have been published in books, magazines, newspapers and online publications. Her most current book is Grin with Grace and CBN features her popular devo-study Grin and Grow with Kathy. She served as literary publicist for over 200 popular authors and publishing houses. She’s the speaker columnist for Christian Communicator. She has edited books, newspapers, and devotionals.
