Fredonia OKs tenure for four

Last month at the Fredonia Board of Education meeting, tenure was approved for Carly Koopman, Amy Sells, Steven Romans and Maggie Snyder.

Cake and coffee were supplied at the meeting in celebration of their achievements. Superintendent Jeff Sortisio spoke highly of each recipient during his comments to the board.

“Tonight we’ve gathered not only to conduct our regular business, but also to celebrate the tenure attainment of some really outstanding folks,” he said. “Tenure really is an honorable attainment. I’ve had the opportunity to work with and observe each of these candidates personally, and I’ve raved about what I’ve seen.”

In other news, the board also approved High School Principal Darrin Paschke’s requested leave of absence from his tenured position in the math tenure area, from and including April 11, 2016, through and including April 10, 2020, the anticipated end date of Paschke’s probationary appointment in the principal tenure area.
