Seneca Nation’s Gakwi:yo:h Farms opens local organic farm market

COLLINS — Gakwi:yo:h Farms Market has opened an organic food market located at 13594 Taylor Hollow Road in Collins.

The goal of the Market is to bring healthy, fresh produce and food to the community. A grand opening event was held Wednesday, where Seneca Nation President Rickey Armstrong and Treasurer Matthew Pagels spoke at before the ribbon cutting.

The Market hosts a variety of organically-grown, fresh, high-quality food products straight from the producers. Items include fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, bison, maple syrup, and white corn products from Gakwi:yo:h Farms. The Market will also supplement stock from local organic growers, namely Thorpes in East Aurora and Abers Acres in Kennedy, for items Gakwi:yo:h Farms cannot yet provide. The Market will accept various forms of payment: cash, check, credit/debit card, and Seneca Nation Health System Veggie Bucks. The Market is in the process of applying to accept SNAP/EBT, but are not equipped to do so yet.

Gakwi:yo:h Farms Market Regular Hours are Monday through Friday: noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.
