IRVING — The driver of a boat that crashed on a breakwall in Sunset Bay has been charged.

The Chautauqua County Sheriffs Office Navigation Division announced that it has concluded its investigation into the boating crash which occurred around 2:25 a.m. on Aug. 5. The operator of the boat Scott Schieder, 54, of Lawson Road, Cheektowaga, has been charged with failure to report a boating accident, imprudent speed, and reckless operation.

He was issued tickets and will appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

The boat has been removed from the breakwall.
