Dunkirk Fire releases July numbers
The Dunkirk Fire Department for the month of July responded to 208 calls. Eleven calls were related to fires, 168 rescue and emergency medical service, one overpressure rupture, explosion, overheat – no fire, two hazardous condition calls, six service calls, six good intent calls, 11 false alarms, two severe weather/natural disaster calls and one special incident calls.
The department suffered no losses in equipment and helped in mutual aid calls on 18 occasions. There was a total of 62 overlapping calls with average response time for EMS being three minutes and-eight seconds and fire at three minutes and 49 seconds. Average time spent on scene was 19 minutes and 55 seconds.
