Mitrano plans stops in county starting Monday

Congressional candidate Tracy Mitrano will be in Chautauqua County starting Monday at a number of gatherings and events.

On Monday, she will attend a gathering for Susan Bigler, Democratic candidate for Sheridan Town Board, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Merritt Estate Winery, 2264 King Road, Forestville. The public is also invited to several additional events including a reception for Mitrano in the historic home of Nancy Adams and Merv Fry, 21 Pearl St., Forestville from 7 to 9 on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Tracy Mitrano is running for Congress in the 2020 election of the 23rd Congressional District, which encompasses 11 counties from Chautauqua County eastward to Tioga County. She is a cybersecurity expert and consultant in information management, security, and privacy. She is also a lawyer and educator with a Ph.D. in American history from Binghamton University and a law degree from Cornell University.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, a reception for Mitrano will be 4 to 6 p.m. hosted by Susan Royal and Wayne Jones at 4747 Berry Road Fredonia.

Mitrano is the guest speaker the next day, Thursday, Sept. 19, at the noon luncheon meeting of the Elizabeth Warner Marvin Community House Women. The public is welcome. Reservations for the lunch are due by Monday. This year’s monthly speaker series at the Marvin House highlights women leaders and achievers from all facets of life. As a cyber security expert, Mitrano is a leader in an occupation not dreamed of 100 years ago.

The series will culminate with the 100th anniversary of the women’s right to vote in August 2020. Due to the significance of the Amendment and the Marvin House’s mission, this Speaker Series is open to the public. The lunch cost is $17. For reservations for this Sept. 19 noon speaker/luncheon event, call the Marvin House at 488-6206 by Monday.

Mitrano will visit senior centers, a farmers market and volunteer at a food pantry to meet and talk with local residents during the week.
