SUNY Fredonia professor Mike Igoe has produced a video that was shown at a Las Vegas film festival this weekend. It was part of the Silver State Film Festival.

The Marx Brothers and the Story of Freedonia Marxonia tells the tale of the village of Fredonia’s dispute with Paramount Pictures over the movie Duck Soup back in 1930.

The village believed the studio was making fun of them with the Marx Brothers depiction of a mythical kingdom called Freedonia.

Igoe wrote, produced and narrated the video. Students Natalie Picarazzi and Dylan Jock were the videographers and editors.
