Altercation served up with coffee leads to charges

ELLERY — Deputies did not even get asked if they wanted cream and sugar after a physical altercation in the town that led to charges against a Bemus Point woman.

At around 7 p.m. Thursday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the town. Upon arrival it was found that Sally M. Lawson 62, punched another individual several times in the face. While deputies were interviewing Lawson she threw hot coffee on them.

Lawson was taken into custody and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and two counts of second-degree harassment.
