Belmont man one of three charged with DWI

RIPLEY — A Belmont man has been charged after an accident on Loomis Street earlier this month.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported today that about 1:43 a.m. Oct. 16, they responded to a crash in the town. Deputies identified the operator of the involved vehicle to be Joseph P. Grisewood, 25. Following an investigation into the incident, deputies acharged Grisewood with DWI, a move from lane unsafely, and refusal of prescreen breath test.

Grisewood was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.

Other DWIs announced by the department today included:

• ELLERY — At about 01:45 a.m. Friday, deputies on patrol stopped a vehicle for observed violations on Fluvanna-Townline Road. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as Jacqueline J. Moore, 24, of Bemus Point. Further investigation found that Moore was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

Moore was charged with aggravated DWI per se having 0.18% or higher B.A.C., DWI, failure to keep right, moved from lane unsafely, and inadequate muffler. Moore was processed and released with citations directing her to appear in town of Ellery court at a later date.

• MINA — At about 3:09 a.m. Oct. 19, deputies observed a vehicle to be traveling at a high rate of speed on North Road in the town. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the operator to be Nicole Schurman, 35, of Sherman. Following an investigation into the incident, deputies charged Schurman with DWI, DWI per se and speed in zone.

Schurman will answer her charges in Mina Town Court.
