Bemus Point woman, no stranger to law, charged again

BEMUS POINT — A 62-year-old woman is in trouble with the law again.

On Wednesday, New York State Police troopers charged Sally Lawson of Bemus Point, with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Troopers responded to a residence in Bemus Point for a report of a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed that Lawson, in an intoxicated condition, had struck the window of the victim’s truck until it shattered. Lawson was placed under arrest, processed at the State Police in Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

It is the second time Lawson has been charged with a crime within a month. In September, Lawson was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.

Troopers responded to a residence in Bemus Point for a report of a disorderly subject. Investigation allegedly revealed that Lawson had driven past the caller’s residence yelling profanities, something she has done several times prior. Troopers located Lawson and advised her that she was under arrest, at which time she allegedly became belligerent and began to physically resist being placed in handcuffs.
