City schools want input on next superintendent; forum Saturday

Community members are invited to take part in an event this morning at the Dunkirk High School that could help set the agenda for the coming years.

Beginning at 10 a.m. in the auditorium, the district is hosting a forum led by its consultants, Western New York Educational Service Council, to find out what residents are looking for in terms of qualifications and characteristics for the next schools superintendent. Currently, the district is in the process of looking for a successor to Dr. James Tracy, who agreed to a separation agreement with the district in July.

Interim Superintendent Sylvia Root noted this forum is an important part of the process for the district as well as the Board of Education in selecting a new leader. The forum will last until 11 a.m. and more forums could be scheduled at a later date.
