Climate change expert to speak at SUNY

A national expert on climate change is coming to Fredonia as part of the SUNY Fredonia Convocation Series. Jim D’Aloisio will speak on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Room 105 of the Science Center at SUNY Fredonia.

D’Aloisio is a structural and building envelope engineer who is the chair of the Structural Engineering Institutes’s Climate Action Team. He considers himself a “conditional optimist” and his talk will reflect that.

Part one will be about where we are now covering the current state of our changing climate. Part two will discuss various options for action that may be most effective. Part three will provide an overview of encouraging developments that suggest progress is being made.

D’Aloisio’s talk is sponsored by the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Women’s Action Group, Chautauqua Climate Reality Project, Chautauqua County League of Women Voters, SUNY Fredonia Climate Education Initiative, and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua.
