17-year-old charged in murder, manslaughter after fire

CLARKSVILLE — State Police this morning announced they have charged William J. Larson Jr., 17, on two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree manslaughter, a class B felony.

The charges come in the wake of an early Thursday morning fire in this Allegany County town where two people died at 8472 Courtney Hallow.

Larson was arraigned and transported to the Erie County Youth Services Center, and is being held on $50,000 cash bail/$100,000 bond.

State Police are still working to positively identify the victims and their cause of death, and this incident remains under investigation.

New York State Police were assisted by the state DEC, NYS Forest Rangers, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Allegany County Emergency Services, Cuba Police Department, Clarksville Fire Department, Clarksville Ambulance, Obi Church and the people of town of Clarksville.
