Gowanda Central School District November news

GOWANDA — The Gowanda Central School District has announced a number of events for November. Activities will be held at the school, located at 10674 Prospect St. in Gowanda.

Wednesday, Nov. 6: Gowanda High School’s Class of 2020 is hosting a Senior Class Weidner’s chicken barbecue. The fund-raiser will take place in the middle school cafeteria from 2:30 p.m. until the meals sell out. The cost is $10 and includes chicken, salt potatoes, corn, bread/butter. Pick up pre-sale dinners by 7:30 p.m. For tickets, see a senior or e-mail msrelosky@gcslearn.org or msschott@gcslearn.org. The fund-raiser coincides with the opening night of the GHS musical “Once Upon a Mattress.”

Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 6 to 7: Gowanda High School’s Thespian Society presents the musical “Once Upon a Mattress” at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets: Adults $8, students/senior citizens $5. (Free senior Tuesday, Nov. 19: Gowanda Middle/High School fall band concert will take place for student musicians in grades 7-12 in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 21: Gowanda Middle/High School fall chorus concert for student musicians in grades 7 to 12 in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 23: It’s Time to Crop: Scrapbooking Crops at Gowanda High School in the cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Share a table and use of a Cricut machine. The day also includes a Chinese auction, vendors and make-and-takes, door prizes. the registration cost is $30 and includes lunch and dinner. the cost of the crop is $20 and an additional $10 for food. To register, send payment c/o Barb Dempsey, Gowanda High, 10674 Prospect St., Gowanda, NY 14070. Make checks payable to Gowanda Spanish Club. Future crops will be held Feb. 8 and March 28.

Saturday, Nov. 30: Gowanda High School’s senior class basket auction fund-raiser will be held in the middle school gym from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Class of 2020.
