Students visit Greystone

Submitted Photo

Pictured above with professor Dr. Christine Jarvis on the far right, 20 SUNY Fredonia students from Dr. Jarvis’ Environmental Literature class celebrate the planting of four trees. Each tree was planted in honor of an environmental author whom the students had studied. The planting gave the students a hands-on experience with the environment in addition to the intellectual pursuit. The day long event was held at Greystone Nature Preserve and followed by a luncheon and discussion time. Greystone Nature Preserve is a not-for-profit teaching facility which offers community members of all ages and ability levels experiential environmental education. Miles of wooded trails are also open to the public dawn till dusk from April to November. For reservations or information, visit facebook or call 679-6603.
