BECC Electric donates time, materials to Fredonia Police Department
When BECC Electric heard that the Fredonia Police Department had been operating without a backup generator, they felt the need to do something. Emergency services NEED to be able to operate in all conditions, especially a power outage, and we felt it was unacceptable that Fredonia was not able to. We witnessed our police officers using cell phones to communicate when their radios were down due to a power outage. We worked together with Chief Meyers and sold the Village a 22 KW unit at cost and donated all time and materials to install the generator. During the installation, we discovered that the old generator was never installed properly. We also wired the radio repeater to the generator, so the entire station is covered in the event of a power outage. We live, work and play in the community and are glad we can give back.
