Cassadaga Valley, Frewsburg win High School Bowl

JAMESTOWN — Cassadaga Valley Central School defeated Panama Central School 67-38 in a recent Media One High School Bowl match at Jamestown Community College.

In another match, Frewsburg Central School defeated Tidioute Community Charter School, 53-5.

Rae Lessinger of Cassadaga Valley and Veronica Nowak of Frewsburg earned Player of the Match honors.

Cassadaga Valley was represented by Emily Wakelee, Christopher Bacon, Nicholas Denslow, Xzavier Brown, and Jonathan Zybert.

Panama team members included Nora Engstrom, Aurora Gould, Lyla Gaziyeva, Kate Kester, Summer Dracup, and Connor Tremblay.

Joe Mihaly, Brendan Randall, Kelson Laska, and Summer Frew competed for Frewsburg.

The Tidioute team was comprised of Kelsey Nuttall, Dalton Kennedy, Natalie Valentine, Brayden Toomey, Jerry Smith, Ryan Morgan, and Samantha Riker.

High School Bowl, now in its 59th year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC. Sponsors include the JCC Alumni Association, SKF Aeroengine-North America, Chautauqua County Humane Society, Honest John’s Pizza and Wings, Pepsi, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Marsh Appliance and Carports, Weinberg Financial Group, and Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Honor Society of Women Educators.

High School Bowl airs at 12:10 p.m. on Saturdays on radio station WJTN and at 7 a.m. on Sundays on radio station WWSE. Matches can also be heard online at radiojamestown.com/podcasts.
