Northern Chautauqua County had some of the highest snowfall totals from overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, Fredonia and Cassadaga had the most snow with 5.5 inches while Dunkirk tallied 4.2 inches. Silver Creek reported 4 inches and Gerry had 3.5 inches.

In Cattaraugus County, one reader reported Perrysburg had 6.2 inches.

Another 3 inches may fall this afternoon when lake-effect snow bands shift to the south and gusty winds are expected through midnight.

Winds this afternoon were clocked at 43 mph in the city and 37 mph in Fredonia. The highest gust was clocked in Buffalo at 47 mph.

Warmer temperatures — in the 40s — and rain are expected on Thursday and Friday.
