Fredonia follows Dunkirk, closes village playgrounds
Playgrounds in Fredonia were closed Friday by the Police Department.
Fredonia village police announced on Facebook it has closed all playgrounds until further notice.
“The closures will assist in stopping the spread of the coronavirus,” said village Police Chief Phil Maslak. “As always the Fredonia Police Department prides itself in protecting all of our children.”
Fredonia’s closure comes one day after Dunkirk officials did the same thing. State Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered playgrounds closed in New York City during a recent daily briefing regarding the virus.
