Free educational program presented by Coast Guard

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is committed to boater education in support of the United States Coast Guard’s mission of recreational boater safety. Due to the COVID-19 virus, flotilla 34 has made a commitment to offer remote educational programs in our community. The Zoom platform allows us to reach more boaters in the safety of their homes. The Zoom platform allows us to reach more boaters in the safety of their homes.

“Suddenly in Command,” is a free class via Zoom that will be offered Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Thursday, Nov. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. It will address a situation where you are out with a friend on his boat when something happens to the skipper. The class will cover what you need to know to get help and get home.

This educational offering focuses on the “backup” member of the crew. This backup individual may be a spouse, family member, or friend that would assist in the event something might happen to the captain of the vessel.

A computer with a camera is needed to access the class. Sign up to attend at USCGAUX9ER34@gmail.com
