Siracuse seeks trustee seat on Fredonia Village Board

Nicole Siracuse

Nicole Siracuse is a candidate for trustee in the village of Fredonia.

“I am a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County. I moved to the Village of Fredonia in 2015 while working for Alstar EMS and Brooks Memorial Hospital,” she said. “In 2018 I became a registered nurse and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in nursing from Daemen College in 2019. I have worked as a bedside RN at the local hospital, the VA hospital in Buffalo, and currently work from home for a chart review company based in Nashvile, Tenn.

“I, along with my husband Ben Siracuse, who is a lieutenant for the village of Fredonia Fire Department and a lifelong resident of Fredonia, welcomed our baby Gabriella last fall. Fredonia is where we have chosen to live and raise a family. I have a great love for this Village and want to make it the best it can possibly be. I firmly believe Western New York is up and coming, and Fredonia can be a part of that great rise. We just need to tap into all of its beautiful potential and get this Village back on track to becoming the best place to raise a family and live out retirement with your grandchildren.

“In order to get there, we need a great group of trustees who are willing to look beyond their personal agendas and work together regardless of personal feelings, political party or who brought the good idea to the table, and put this village and its people first. When elected trustee, I will be ready to return Village Board decisions back to the people, and always ensure transparency.

“I will also focus on improving infrastructure in our village, including the water system, sidewalks, and roadways. I believe that we need to ensure reliable, potable water for both our residents and commercial businesses before we can begin driving our economic growth. Who wants to open a restaurant or manufacturing institution when potable water cannot be guaranteed, and has historically been a large issue for this community?

“Who wants to bring their small children or grandchildren to live here when multiple times a year we are having to conserve and boil water? This is an investment that needs to be made, and a solution must be found.

“I am also putting an emphasis on placing value and appreciation back on our village employees. These are the people who we are calling for help in our worst moments, and the people who we rely on to keep our Village safe, and running smoothly every day. They deserve the utmost respect and gratitude from their board, and a work environment that is comfortable, welcoming, and conducive to getting their jobs done the best way possible.

“I will also be focusing on creating community activities, like improvements and additions to our parks and playgrounds. We need to make this Village an area young families want to stay in, with plenty to do.

“With today’s virtual work-from-home world, jobs are right in the living room, and we may no longer need a huge employer to draw people to live here. My dream, and what I would love to begin working towards is exploring installations of a community pool or splash pad, and dog park. As well as having live music and food, beverage venders on the weekends in Russell Joy Park. We can make it into the number one spot to be on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon with the whole family.”

“The new draw to a community is becoming what there is to do on one’s days off, so let’s get progressive, look to the future and get some fresh ideas with some fresh faces in the Village of Fredonia Board of Trustees!

“I look forward to hearing from you about your ideas for what you want to see in your Board of Trustees, and what you want to see in our community! Please reach out and send an email about anything you want to see in the Village to nmsiracuse@gmail.com. You can also find me on my Facebook Page: Nicole Siracuse for Fredonia Trustee.

“I hope I can count on your vote on Nov. 2, because a vote for me for Village of Fredonia Trustee is a vote for the future of Fredonia!”
