Smith running for Portland town clerk

Barbara Smith

PORTLAND — Barbara Smith is seeking election of Portland Town Clerk being endorsed by the Republican and Conservative Parties.

Smith grew up in the Town of Portland and graduated from Brocton Central School in 1981. She went on to receive her associate’s degree from Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo.

After graduating from Bryant and Stratton she worked at CCS Architects in Dunkirk for 11 years. Once CCS Architect closed she went to work at FairPoint Communications, now Consolidated Communication, for 20 years. Smith now works at Westfield Family Physicians.

Both these jobs have kept her in contact with many community members which she truly loves. If elected, Smith is excited to take on her new responsibilities and challenges. She will enjoy working locally with the people of the town and village.

She is a member of the John W. Dill Post 434 American Legion Auxiliary and works at the legion. She and her family make their home in Brocton.
