The 1891 Fredonia Opera House presents “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” at 7:30p.m. The film, directed by Jason Reitman, takes on the legacy of “Ghostbusters” and delivers something exciting and new. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6.50 for Opera House members/seniors, $5 for students, At this time, ALL patrons are asked to wear lookin masks when attending Opera House events.

Shop from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Social Center, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. All state COVID protocols will be followed regarding the wearing of masks. Sanitizer will be available. The barbecue is drive-through only and consists of ¢ barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and butter with a cooke for dessert. Donation is $12 per dinner, with proceeds going to the parish. Purchase tickets after Sunday Masses or or at Big Rick’s on Lake Shore Drive East or the 4th Ward Deli on Doughty Street.

So You Think You Can Cook main event

Celebrity Chef Geoffrey Zakarian will host the competition featuring the top three winners of pre-events held at the St. Susan Center. 5 to 6 is the cocktail hour, 6 p.m. dinner and the start of the cooking competition. Loyal Order of Moose Chapter 651 plans towel raffle bingo

The Loyal Order of Moose Chapter 651 will hold a towel raffle bingo Saturday, Jan. 29 at 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda. Doors open at noon, with the event beginning at 1. The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. Regardless of vaccination status, masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times on LHS grounds. Those who are ill, have tested positive for COVID, or have been near someone who has tested positive are asked to delay a visit. Tours of the facility will not be given. Meet at the Costello Community Room, Rockefeller Arts Center, SUNY Fredonia, at 7 p.m. Classes are open to everyone at the college and in the community. Classes and supplies are provided at no cost. Gowanda High School Spanish Club scrapbooking event

This fund-raiser to support the club’s trip abroad will take place from 8:30 a.m.to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This outdoor festival features winter-themed games, nature hikes, a bonfire and more. There will also be indoor opportunities to explore different hobbies, an opportunity to build a nest box for $6, food and hot drinks.
