Oath of office given

STOCKTON — The Town Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month for their business meeting. The board celebrated its 200th anniversary in February 2021, and is beginning its new year.

David Wilson is the Stockton Town supervisor. At the recent meeting on Tuesday evening, two newly elected councilmen were given the oath of office by Stockton Town Clerk Kathryn Palmer. Brian Abram, Election Commissioner for Chautauqua County, was present for the oath. Abram held the 1881 edition of the Bible and Stanley Zembryski and Hannah Abram took the oath of office. Other councilmen at John Beichner and Bryan Meder.

Aaron Burnett is the highway supervisor. Stockton was named after Richard Stockton who was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
