Robbery suspect on parole from 2017 hold up

The 27-year-old Jamestown man accused of robbing a Kwik Fill late Friday has been out on parole while serving a state prison sentence stemming from a February 2017 robbery of a Falconer credit union.

Kyle R. Senear was being held for arraignment in Jamestown City Court on a charge of second-degree robbery.

Police were alerted around 11:30 p.m. Friday to a reported strong-arm hold up of the 342 Forest Ave. convenience store. Officers learned that a man had demanded cash, struck a clerk in the face and took the cash register before fleeing toward Superior Street.

The clerk was treated by members of the Jamestown Fire Department.

A still image taken from surveillance video was released to the public and, by noon Saturday, Jamestown police announced Senear’s arrest.

JPD attributed the quick work to “multiple tips being given to investigators from citizens who recognized the suspect from his clothing shown in the surveillance photo,” the department said in a news release.

According to online records, Senear was released to the state Division of Parole on Feb. 22 of this year. He was sentenced up to five years in state prison on a second-degree robbery conviction and began serving that sentence in December 2017.

Senear reportedly entered the Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union in Falconer on Feb. 27, 2017, and handed a teller a note advising of the robbery and then fled on foot with a large quantity of cash.

Police at the time said Senear did not display a weapon during the robbery, in which he reportedly used Vaseline and tea bag grindings to simulate facial hair and disguise his face. He was located in the afternoon at a Jamestown residence.

In addition to the latest robbery charge, Jamestown police said Senear is facing a parole violation pending a review by the state.
