Blessed Mary Angela Roman Cathlic Parish announces there will be an outdoor Mass celebrated next Sunday, Aug. 14 at noon at the St. Hedwig’s grounds celebrated by Pastor Jan Trella and accompanied aChoir.

This Mass will be the kickoff event of Polka Fest 2022, which is returning after a two-year COVID break. Event coordinator Tony Popielarz states that “in 2019 we celebrated the area’s first Polka Mass but because of the amount of planning involved and finding the right band and the uncertainty of Covid hanging over our heads in the early planning stages it was decided to have a beautiful traditional Mass outdoors.” He does hope however that next year’s planning committee will consider the return of the Polka Mass.

The event will feature the John Gore band from St. Catharines, Ont., one of the top Polka Bands in North America. They will play from 1 to 5 p.m. The day will also feature Weidner’s Chicken BBQ, Basket raffles, Variety raffle featuring many prizes including a $500.00 Tops Gift Card, a $300.00 Mobil Gas Card and two $250.00 Wal-Mart Gift Cards, a HomeMade – Tulip shaped picnic table and Many more prices.

Also featured outdoors will be hot dogs, hamburgers, Polish sausage sandwiches, cheese pierogies and cold beverages.

There will also be a kids’ world with a bounce house.
