Family Service of Chautauqua Region to host Pasta for a Purpose fundraiser

MAYVILLE — Family Service of the Chautauqua Region will host its annual Pasta for a Purpose fundraiser from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Chautauqua Suites, 215 West Lake Road, Mayville.

The dinner will be catered by Chautauqua Suites and will offer a choice of pasta entrees including a variety of pastas, meatballs, chicken parmesan, Italian sausage along with desserts and wine. Giulia Sowrey of Star Sirch Productions will be the live DJ during the evening. Tickets are available at $30 dollars per person and can be purchased through Family Service of the Chautauqua Region by calling 716-488-1971, the agency’s website at fscrmentalhealth.com/fundraising or at its offices at 332 E. Fourth St. Jamestown.

Each ticket includes admission, dinner and an entry into the grand prize drawing. This year’s grand prize is is a hot air balloon ride for two with Sky Sail Balloons Inc, a weekend stay at the Chautauqua Suites, and a gift certificate for dinner at Webb’s Captain’s Table. Winners do not need to be present. Along with dinner and music, guests will have a chance to bid on items through the event’s silent auction and basket giveaway.

Family Service of the Chautauqua Region utilizes licensed therapists to provide mental health counseling to the Chautauqua region through a variety of programs. Programs include office-based counseling at its office at 332 East Fourth St., Jamestown, as well as other offices through collaboration/partnership with Westfield Family Services and Family Health Medical Services; school-based counseling through its partnership with the Jamestown Public Schools and Frewsburg Central School; house call counseling for seniors; Employee Assistance Program through 38 Chautauqua County agencies; Hispanic Outreach Program with interpreters for Chautauqua County Mental Hygiene, The Resource Center and UPMC in both the north and south counties; and partnership with the Jamestown Police Department through Project Crossroads to help victims of domestic abuse find the services they need.

As a not-for-profit agency, Family Service relies on funding from the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County as well as local foundations and individual donations.

The annual Pasta for a Purpose Fundraiser is will help support children and families in the Chautauqua region, and will assist them in obtaining counseling services in which they otherwise may not be able to afford.
