New State Trooper station now complete

The new station for the local New York State Troopers is complete.

Picone Construction of Clarence built a new facility on Main Street Extension in the city of Dunkirk. The old barracks on Route 60, near the Pomfret-Fredonia border, is still temporarily in use as troopers complete their move.

“The new space features a secure entryway, octagonal foyer with color changing lights multiple offices, a large meeting room, and fully equipped locker rooms for both male and female troopers,” according to a press release from Picone.

The construction firm’s work on the 4,850-square-foot building included “complete site development, survey work, rough carpentry, framing lumber and trusses, brick veneer, concrete formwork and precast concrete, metal fabrication, roof system, spray foam insulation, steel doors and frames, metal studs/drywall, air barriers, louvers, overhead doors, rebar, millwork, ceramic tile and epoxy floor, chain link fence, signs, display cases, painting, carpet, flagpole, earthwork, security windows, as well as HVAC, plumbing and electric.”
