2025-26 Angel campaign underway at NCCS
Each year, Northern Chautauqua Catholic School (NCCS) looks to a small group of generous donors to help give their students the greatest blessing: the gift of a faith-based education. Private Catholic education has been a beacon of light in Chautauqua County for some 171 years.
“NCCS is the little school that continues to thrive against all odds,” says Janie Villella-Sharon, head of advancement and the general music teacher. “I have worked in schools all over New York and Pennsylvania, and I have never experienced the passion and excitement for education that I find at NCCS. There is a sense of determination in the faculty, staff, and all of the families that is extremely rare.”
“The most wonderful thing about NCCS is that we, as teachers, have the ability to really relate and care about each and every student,” said Krissy Potter, the middle school math teacher. “Most of the teachers here are parents and grandparents, so we understand the need for compassion and, being a private school, we have the ability to amend our lessons to really suit the needs of every student.”
NCCS has been able to succeed for as long as it has because of our supportive community, generous donations from so many who care, and the prayers of many faithful individuals throughout Western New York. The tuition at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School covers less than half of the operating costs. Over 70% of the students currently attending NCCS receive some tuition assistance and, with reduced Diocesan support, financial help support from our family, friends, donors, and alumni is more important than ever.
The ability to give an educational option to people in our region is one of the most important aspects of NCCS. The students’ joy and success at NCCS is palpable to anyone who enters the building. “We love all of the teachers. It feels like a big, warm family,” said NCCS 5th graders Magnolia Tye, Ellis Golem, and Mason Crowell.
“The after-school activities are all awesome! You’re never bored here,” says Magnolia Tye. Not only are the academic standards at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School outstanding, there is also a multitude of after-school activities including sports programs for students in grades 4-8, chess club, mission club, and a thriving musical program.
As we look ahead, your support is not just an investment in our school, but in the bright futures of each student who walks through our doors. Together, we can continue to create a nurturing environment where dreams are realized, talents are fostered, and our community thrives.
