Four charged in Dunkirk drug bust

Three Dunkirk residents and one Fredonia man are in custody after a morning drug bust at 527 S. Roberts Road in Dunkirk.

Dunkirk Police and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant that had been issued earlier by city of Dunkirk Court Judge John Kuzdale. The search warrant was issued based on a month long investigation into narcotics trafficking from the Roberts Road address and the four subjects.

During the course of the investigation agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force made numerous controlled purchases of heroin from subjects within the residence. At the time of the entry officers possessed a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for Onix Lopez Ortiz, who was originally charged based on the arrest warrant.

As a result of the search, agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force seized over a half an ounce of heroin, marijuana and a large quantity of money.

Charged were:

Myra Rivera Cruz

• Ortiz, 38, of 527 S. Roberts Road, with three counts of third-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal Sale of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance.

• Myra Rivera Cruz, 28, of 527 S. Roberts Road, with two counts of third-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance.

• Jann Montanez Calderon, 38, of 527 S. Roberts Road, with two counts of third-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance.

• Pedro L Rivera, 59, of 8900 Glasgow Road, Fredonia,with two counts of third-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance.

Each of the subjects are being held at the City of Dunkirk Jail without bail pending arraignment and further action of the Court.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Dunkirk Police Department.
