People packed The Boardwalk shops this afternoon.
Thousands of onlookers made Dunkirk a destination this afternoon. In preparation for Sunday’s Grand Prix boat races, a number of preliminary events were taking place on the waterfront.
Here is a schedule of events for the two days:
TODAY
Boat test trials from noon to 4 p.m.
Music The Freeze/The Rising from 5 to 9 p.m. at the pier
Crowds look over one of the boats.
SUNDAY
Racing beings at noon
Intermission for aerobatic performance by Rick Volker from 1-1:20 p.m.
Racing resumes at 2 p.m.
Music from Counterfeit from 3 to 5 p.m.
Another boat is parked near the city docks.
Race World Offshore awards at 5 p.m. at the pier.
Crowds gather on the pier as boats are placed into the waters.
The crane that places the boats into the waters is seen.
