SILVER CREEK — No serious injuries were reported after a truck hit a house Thursday morning.

Around 8 a.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies responded to 323 Central Ave. in Silver Creek for a report of a large box truck hitting a house.

Upon arrival deputies found the truck was leaking diesel fuel and had struck the house after failing to negotiate a curve on Central Avenue. The crash shifted the entire house off of its foundation.

Due to the condition of the house, the Silver Creek Fire Department had to remove individuals from the second floor of the house with a ladder to get them out of the house safely.

Deputies identified the driver as Jacob I. Bostic, 25, of Buffalo. The truck had also struck multiple street signs and a tree before striking the house.

The driver of the truck was transported to Lake Shore Hospital with apparent minor injuries. No residences inside the house were hurt during the incident.

Bostic was charged with speed unreasonable, unsafe lane change, crossing over hazard markings and leaving a designated truck route. Occupants of the home are being assisted by the Red Cross to find temporary shelter.
