Second show is one week away

The 2018 event drew more than 1,000 people.

In one week, the second Lake Erie Outdoor & Fishing Show will take place on the waterfront in the city of Dunkirk.

Title presenter of the event is the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency, while one of the sponsors, the Clarion Marina Hotel & Conference Center, will host the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 6. Other sponsors include the Lake Erie Management Commission, Lake Shore Savings, the city of Dunkirk, Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau, Larry Spacc GMC, Fredonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Shaylah’s Canine Commands, Kishel’s Scents & Lures, Copy Boy Instant Printing, Gutter Logic Gutter Protection and Hometown Insurance.

More than 50 vendors will be in attendance with five presentations planned for the day. Topics include: walleye movement in Lake Erie; water quality and tourism in Chautauqua County; coyote and other trapping hints; turkey game calls as well as boating safety.

Also, a number of prizes will be given away at the event. The grand prize is a $500 outdoor shopping spree, courtesy of Walmart. Other prizes include wine, food, desserts as well as a number of gift certificates.

“With the success of last year’s show, we are committed to making this an annual event,” said John D’Agostino, OBSERVER publisher. “Lake Erie is a regional treasure and this show helps promote and protect this important natural resource.”

More than 1,000 people attended the first Lake Erie Outdoor & Fishing Show last April.

Tickets for the event are $5 each and available at the OBSERVER from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Tickets also will be available at the Clarion on the day of the show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children under 10 are free.
